An expert group met in London on 24 January to continue drafting work.
The objective is to create a global “industry standard” scalable contract for offshore structure dismantling work. The contract will specify agreed services with estimated time schedules and prices and staged payments as part of an offshore structure dismantling project. The contract will be for the removal of any offshore field architecture but is not intended to cover disposal or plug and abandonment work.
According to project Chairman Kees de Loof:
The aim is to create a boilerplate framework contract that parties can easily adapt to suit their own needs and match the size of the project. The contract won't be limited to any particular type of facility or operation, but can be used for removal of any offshore field architecture such as pipelines, mattresses, manifolds, jackets, topsides, platforms and monopile structures.
The new contract is taking shape and the drafting group hope to have a first draft ready to be reviewed by BIMCO’s Documentary Committee in June. The aim is to have the contract ready for adoption towards the end of 2017 following a consultation process with the industry.

Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) publish regular Bunker Alerts based entirely on fuel samples and have kindly permitted BIMCO’s Members to access this information.
The Bunker Alerts are not intended to be an evaluation of overall bunker quality in the port or area concerned, but usually highlight a specific parameter within the fuel which has raised a quality issue.
All of BIMCO's most widely used contracts and clauses as well as advice on managing charters and business partners.
